Grant # 10

This project entails a detailed study culminating with project plans and specifications for a project that will redirect storm water run-off away from the Highland Canal.

The project will incorporate retention basins and other “low impact development” features to minimize pollutants from reaching the Highland Canal and the Truckee River. The project addresses a problem crossing jurisdictional boundaries.

When implemented, this project will prevent storm water run-off from entering the Highland Canal and will reduce sediment, TDS, hydrocarbon and nutrient loading on the river.
