Grant #83 The overall project entails the development and implementation of a third to eighth grade watershed education curriculum for students in the Washoe County School District. Once the curriculum is developed, workshops will be held with teachers to facilitate the use of lesson plans and resources in a classroom and field setting. The program is "results" oriented and will incorporate water quality testing, field studies, watershed protection, and water cycle education centered on the Truckee River. The program will focus on 350 students
TMWA Benefit:
Implementation of the program will increase awareness of watershed protection to impressionable students and will improve stewardship and ownership of the valuable Truckee River resource.
