Rancho San Rafael Wetland Enhancement and Water Quality Enhancement

Summary: This project is a collaboration between Washoe County and the Nevada Conservation Corps for implanting invasive plant control and revegetating newly constructed Rancho San Rafael wetlands along Evans Creek. This project will selectively remove 35 percent of the invasive Russian-Olive in the Rancho San Rafael wetlands area north of McCarran Boulevard. Following removal of the Russian-Olive, the area will be revegetated with 200 Yellow Willow plants propagated from cuttings taken onsite.

In addition to this work, three other areas in the Rancho San Rafael wetlands will be revegetated with 100 Yellow Willow plants and 1,500 Nebraska Sedge plants.
