Grant # 53

This project makes improvements to the streambank adjacent to agricultural lands, which will: provide stability of the streambank through most 5 to 10 year flood events and ensure the maturation of trees and vegetation that would naturally keep the bank stable; reshape the slope gradient to decrease erodability of the site and create a floodplain; vegetate the newly restored streambank and keep noxious weeds out; and protect the agricultural lands that are valuable to the land assignment holders and to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.

TMWA Benefit
This project, as part of a holistic integrated effort to reduce noxious weeds along the Truckee River corridor, improves the Truckee River watershed and long term water quality of the river, thus improving water quality to TMWA treatment plant intakes.
