The Fund is held at the Community Foundation of Western Nevada, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Fund utilizes an Advisory Committee of nine members. The Advisory Committee equally represents the three political entities in the area; Washoe County, City of Reno, and City of Sparks each appoint three members, none of whom may be elected officials.
